We heard the trumpet fanfare that heralded Diana's entrance. We could not see her arrival from our seats. Very clearly though we could hear the murmurs and gasps of approval inside the church along with the cheers and applause outside as the entire world first glimpsed the bride in her fairytale dress. She looked lovely, innocent and demure. She more than met her subject's expectations that glorious morning! Pat and I were struck by the public spontaneous joyful response to their new princess Here's the stuff of which fairy tales are made. That morning we all believed the magic to be true The British public had quickly and sincerely taken the new princess-to-be to their hearts. She was still very young. She had barely turned twenty.
