Staying on the theme of waterfalls.. would you believe me if I said this one was on a Greek island?? Mylopotamos falls are located on Kythira island, it’s best to get there earlier in the morning so you can have it all to yourself☺️ Its a beautiful little walk and the town itself where the falls are situated is so cute where you can grab breakfast or lunch from the local tavernas. Although the water was fresh and quite cold (in the middle of summer) it didn’t stop me jumping in - so refreshing!? Such a magical morning!

Το μήκος των ακτογραμμών του είναι περίπου 90 χιλιόμετρα. Στο βόρειο άκρο του νησιού βρίσκεται ο φάρος του Μουδαρίου, ο οποίος χτίστηκε το 1857 από τους Άγγλους, ενώ στο λιμάνι του Καψαλίου, στο νότιο τμήμα του νησιού, βρίσκεται φάρος ο οποίος κατασκευάστηκε το 1853.

Στα στενά της Χώρας

  • Η Χώρα με τα παραδοσιακά στενά, την αρχιτεκτονική της και το κάστρο της. Έχει χαρακτηριστεί παραδοσιακός οικισμός.
  • Το Καψάλι, το λιμάνι της Χώρας με τους δίδυμους κόλπους, το κέντρο της διασκέδασης στο νησί. Απέναντι απ' το Καψάλι βρίσκεται η βραχονησίδα Αυγό ή Χύτρα με επισκέψιμο σπήλαιο.
  • Η Παλαιόχωρα, η ερειπωμένη βυζαντινή πρωτεύουσα του νησιού και η Κακή Λαγκάδα, η έξοδος του μεγάλου φαραγγιού της Παλαιόχωρας νότια της Αγ. Πελαγίας.
  • Ο Μυλοπόταμος, παραδοσιακό χωριό στα δυτικά με τον καταρράκτη της Φόνισσας και την μεσαιωνική Κάτω Χώρα με το Ενετικό κάστρο, το εντυπωσιακό τοπίο και τα συντηρημένα Βυζαντινά εκκλησάκια μέσα στο κάστρο. Τόσο ο Μυλοποτάμος όσο και η Κάτω Χώρα έχουν χαρακτηριστεί παραδοσιακοί οικισμοί.
